This novel form of vertical transportation is called a Trampe. Cyclists, mounted on their bikes, use a small foot platform that pushes them uphill. The platform travels up an underground track.
The manufacturer of the Trampe, Design Management AS, says hilly cities deter cyclists from riding, but the bike lift encourages more riding.
This bike escalator is a bit different than the first in that it assists the cyclist maneuver their bikes up stairs instead of hilly terrain. This device certainly comes in handy in heavily populated cities where many people ride bicycles to work or simply to run daily errands. And, it is environmentally friendly.
This could be good for people wanting to ride a bike but are unable to get up hills due to health or age issues.A really great idea. I have also read an article about this here http://www.exploretalent.com/articles/ride-norways-first-bike-escalator/ . Try to check it out guys.
