Open sesame: Hotel elevator ‘magically’ awaits Park Hyatt Chicago guests

Short and sweet today everyone.  I would like to hear your thoughts on this article that was in USA Today.  I have never heard of this “generous procedure” before.  Have you?

  1. What a great idea. They really know how to provide great service at the Hyatt. In my building no one ever sends the elevator back down to the ground floor after they’ve used it and it drives me carazy. I don’t know why they can’t just make it so that the elevator goes down to the ground floor automatically.

  2. This is really neat, but I have the same confusion as a USA Today commenter: “I guess I’m confused. How does the front desk know you’re exiting your room on the 5th floor and heading to the guest only elevator? I can see how guest services would know you’re heading in the direction of the elevator lobby and press a button making sure an elevator was there to greet the individual, but how do they know when you’re leaving your room?”
