So, you are probably asking yourself two questions:
1. What is that “thing” she is holding?
2. What does it have to do with vertical transportation?
Well, this “thing” happens to be a giant whale vertebra that is suspected of being used as a stool for the Chumash Indian people hundreds of years ago. Hundreds of other artifacts were also found when a new elevator was to be installed in Santa Barbara’s Veterans Memorial Building.
