Thieves Trapped in Elevator Call Police for Help

Two thieves called police for help when they got stuck in an elevator going to the floor of an office building they were going to break into, according to reports.

German police said the two thieves, aged 31 and 37, used an elevator’s emergency phone when it got stuck at a lower floor while they were trying to reach a higher floor they planned on burglarizing.

According to Reuters, one of the thieves told to the police over the phone “This sounds really dumb, but I’m afraid that we wanted to break in and the elevator has gotten stuck.”

One of the thieves apparently injured his hand while trying to forcibly open the elevator’s door.

The thieves were arrested after they were rescued by firemen from the stuck elevator of the Cologne , Germany office building.


And yes, this is a true story.
